This TikTok user recreates looks worn by iconic ’00s characters, and she nails it every time: ‘okay these slayed so much’
One TikTok user has dedicated her platform to recreating outfits from iconic fictional characters from the ’90s and aughts.
Evelyn Jade (@h3ll0k1ttyy.69) is a creator on TikTok who posts content pertaining to ’90s and aughts fashion. In every video she posts, Evelyn is seen reimagining the looks of famous television or film characters — from Buffy Summers of Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Anna Coleman of Freaky Friday.
Evelyn curated looks inspired by Peyton Sawyer of One Tree Hill. Peyton, who was portrayed by Hilarie Burton, was often seen in her signature biker jacket and low-rise denim.
"this is the best one i’ve seen thank u," one One Tree Hill fan wrote.
"okay these slayed so much," another replied.
"Peyton always had the best style," someone commented.
Evelyn also recreated outfits inspired by Sam Montgomery, played by Hilary Duff, in 2004's A Cinderella Story. Honorable mention: Sam's baby pink cargo pants!
"i wanted to be sam so bad when i was younger," one user wrote.
"This was the movie I played on repeat," someone replied.
For fans of The O.C., Evelyn put together looks for privileged Newport Beach besties Summer Roberts, played by Rachel Bilson, and Marissa Cooper, played by Mischa Barton.
Most of the items in the video, according to Evelyn, were sourced from eBay.
The Vampire Diaries, which debuted in 2009, also received a style video dedicated to heroine Elena Gilbert, who, of course, was portrayed by Nina Dobrev. As fans are well aware, Elena donned a leather jacket over a red top paired with denim jeans on the show's pilot.
"your outfits>>," a TikTok user replied.
Evelyn Jade is another Gen Z content creator who's found a dedicated and equally nostalgic audience on TikTok. For millennials and Gen Z alike, her content takes people back to a seemingly simpler and even campier time of fashion and perhaps life in general.
